The same is true of any required ongoing monthly cost. Many who I would most like to help couldn't justify spending the high recurring monthly cost of purchases or auto-shipments required to remain qualified ... and spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for "free samples" to distribute was simply beyond their means.

• It must Clearly AND Simply Offer Genuine Value: While I've worked with some wonderful products and services, I found it draining and time-consuming having to spend hours explaining and reinforcing why a "special ingredient" or "exclusive benefit" made it the be-all-and-end-all product or service ... and why it justified its unusually high price. Then more tiring hours had to be spent convincing my prospect that theyhad to have it ... and then the rest of my career repeatedly persuading them to continue getting and using it!

It is very important that you approach your leads properly and with the right mindset. Never approach them with the thought that “I really need to sponsor someone.” If you have that thought in mind you won’t sponsor any of the right prospects. You have to come with the mindset that you are doing them a favor by calling them. They have the opportunity to change their lives based upon this conversation.

Here’s an example of poor posture…would it be ok if I sent you some information? Leaders don’t ask they tell their prospects what the next step is and how you want to proceed.

Don’t give a sales pitch to your leads. Your job is to interview them by asking certain questions to see if they are someone that you want to work with. First position yourself like this with the opening statement. “Hi John, this is Steven. I’m calling you because you requested some information from one of my company websites about making money from home. How can I help you?”

A lot of times they will respond in an obtuse way. Keep them on point by saying…”you are still looking to generate income from home correct?”

Then follow up with the question “why are you looking to generate income from home?”
If at any point they are avoiding your questions or you can tell they are not the right people tell them that and let them go.

Here are some other questions to ask.

What are you currently doing for income?
How long have you been doing that type of work?
Do you enjoy what you are doing?
Have you ever worked from home in the past?
What type of income are you looking to generate from home?
How much time each week would you have to dedicate to building your business?
How much are you planning to invest initially in your business?

The whole time you are speaking with them you are listening to find out if they are someone you want to work with. You are acting as a consultant not a salesperson.

If they are someone you want to continue on with then tell them that. “John, it sounds like you are someone that I could possibly work with. Do you have a pen handy? My number is 555-555-5555. Could you repeat that back to me? What I am going to do is send you an email with a few links to websites for you to view the details about our company and what you’ll be doing to build your business. If you decide you want to go forward in the process call me back at the number I gave you.”

You are not needy here…the people that are looking to work with you are looking to make a change and you are there to assist them in the process. All those questions and each part of the call is to position yourself as a leader. You want to make so many calls for such a long period of time that you master this process.

This is how all successful network marketers develop the proper leadership skills. You will be shaky at doing this at first, but in time you will learn how to do it and become a success if you don’t give up.

Why It’s Safer To Be Self-Employed!

It isn’t necessarily safer to be self-employed, but it is much safer to have a “successful” online business than it is to have a corporate job. The difference between an online business and being self-employed is varied.

Many jobs like owning your own chiropractic clinic, being a dentist and running a body shop while you are self-employed your shop is open certain hours during the day and without you being there working there is no income. However, with an online business the shop is open at all times, in particular one that delivers digital products or one that is involved with a company that ships your product for you. So while one type of self-employment is still risky another type is not. When your money (investment, real estate, etc.) is working for you or your website is working for you without your continued direct involvement then this is solid job security. Especially when you are dealing with the kind of online business that does not drop off when the economy does. You see your online business is world-wide without any local limitations and time is not a factor. Someone can go to your web site and purchase your product or service any time any day regardless of whether you are in Tahiti or in front of your computer.

Here are 3 reasons why it is safer to be self-employed with an internet business.

There is no job security. You can be fired for one mistake that you made. If the company decides it doesn’t need your division anymore it could lay you off. Then of course what do you do? You go get another job which has the exact same potential. Exciting isn’t it?
Your income is based solely on your own continued efforts and faithfulness to showing up everyday. If something were to happen that left you incapable of doing either of these your usefulness to the company is no more While you can get income from disability or social security it is no way to live permanently. Who would want to rely on the government paying them??
There is no time freedom when you are employed. You have to work specific hours and you don’t get paid when you are not working. Except of course those brief times that you get to enjoy your vacations every year. Woo hoo 3 weeks to do what I love to do. Why would you want the supposed “security” of a job when with an online business that pays you can get paid when you are sleeping, eating at nice restaurants and traveling.

Of course this is not to say that having a home business is easy. It takes hard work, at first especially, when you are learning the ins-and-outs of internet marketing and developing the skills that you need to succeed. However, once you have a good system for yourself in place you can spend less time with it. The most important thing for you to realize that this internet marketing is not a get rich quick scheme it’s a genuine line of work that people make real money doing. You will probably be working at your full-time job when as you are developing the skills it takes to succeed. There’ll be times when you get frustrated and want to give up, but don’t…keep working at it and learning new skill sets.

The Real Reason People Quit...

This seems like a very simple question that can be answered by a few
typical/obvious answers:

They quit.

The didn't plug in.

They didn't participate.

Whichever it is, they quit.

What you should be asking yourself, or maybe know about yourself, is WHY...

Why didn't they follow through, while others do ?

When I learned the answer to this question last night listening in my Shaklee
University site, it was very sobering...

Not only did the reason behind their results come into the open, but the reason
for my recent spat of success has become apparent.

So what is the answer, the secret, the end all answer?

Why do most people fail when only a selected few succeed?

Drum roll.....

Those who do succeed have a CORE DESIRE to do so.

"Desire...your right Chris I've heard that 100 times from my upline. 'Just look
for those who desire to make money and you'll do great. blah blah blah...
Everyone I have ever talked to desires to make more money and it hasn't made any
difference so far."

And you are absolutely right.

The difference is in their level of desire.

The only time anything gets done in your life - When you follow it through to
completion with a sense of urgency, is when you desire to accomplish that goal
at a Core Level of 100 on a scale of 100.

You must accomplish it. It's part of you, it completely consumes you.

It dominates your thoughts above and beyond anything else each day and all day.

These are core desires, and the people who really achieve any notable success in
Network Marketing, have that accomplishment as a core desire.

They are the ones who you see on stage and hear on training calls.

That is the "secret" to success.

If reaching your goal, whether to pay off your credit card debt, buy a new
house, a new car, save money for retirement, or fire your boss, if it is not a
core desire, and not attached to your network marketing business, you WILL NOT
succeed. Period.

The sad truth is that most people in this industry did not buy a business, they
buy hope, a dream, an unattainable goal to them.

And this hope is NOT backed by true desire.

A career in Network Marketing ( no boss ever) has been my core desire since I
was 16 years old when I started my first job as a dishwasher.

I didn't want to work for a paycheck that I had no control over. If I worked
100x more than everyone else, I'd get paid the same as long as I did it in the
"40 hour workweek" that everyone else was.

Guess what, that didn't get me anything. I busted my butt while others didn't do
anything and no more recognition was given to me.

That is when I decided that I wanted to be able to control my own paycheck. I've
spent money on learning about how to be successful instead of going out to the
bar with my friends or spending my money on things that wouldn't further me in
my business.

The desire to never work for anyone else again has been a dominating force in my
life, and it's the reason I wouldn't give up or "throw in the towel".

What this means is that my success was 100% guaranteed. It was no longer a
question of IF I was going to be successful, but when...

And that is exactly why people you sponsor quit.

Don't get upset or mad at yourself over it. 80% of people who join you will
never sponsor more than 1 rep or customer. Most people simply don't have the
desire to be at a level of 100 to accomplish their goals through their business.
They just bought hope in order to quiet the little voice inside their head that
keeps telling them they need to make a change.

Once they buy into the business and don't make $1,000 in a week, they justify
that their change "doesn't work". This is what the "opportunity seekers" are.
That is exactly why I don't spend money on leads.

Such a tragedy. People sure are funny aren't they?

So my question to you is....

What is your desire level to achieve your goal through network marketing?

Is it at 50? (like most people)

Is it at 80? (still not enough)

Is it at 90? (nope, still not enough)

Or is it at 100? ( The only true level of desire that WILL produce results.)

You should be able to tell pretty quickly...

What do you do daily to build your business? How many books have you read on the
industry? How many conference calls are you on each week? How many people do you
talk to about your business each day?

What would you be willing to give and sacrifice to succeed?

I hope the answer to that question happens to be "whatever it takes", because I
can promise you that in the end.... it's worth the sacrifice.

So how can you tell if your prospect is going to succeed or fail from the FIRST
phone call?

Easy... Ask them the question "So which books are you currently reading on
self-development and marketing?"

Anyone who is SERIOUS about being a successful Entrepreneur will be able to name
at least one book that they are reading, if not more!

Those who can't answer this simple question are really just kidding themselves.

So, what my question for you is...

What books are you currently reading to better yourself? Are you truly committed
to success in this industry?

If you don't have an answer to this, then this industry isn't for you. Face it,
just go back to your 9 to 5 job and work for a paycheck that you have no control
over.

In any business, the money has to come from somewhere. Whether it's from sales revenue or service charges or other transactions, the bitter business truth is that every dime in your pocket used to be in someone else's. It's not a bad thing. Through however many transactions between however many parties, you received money, and they received either goods or services. And that's how an economy works.

On a less Macro scale, in the world of network and multi-level marketing this principle remains especially true and obvious. At the very core of your business, you make money through the sale of goods or services to someone. You yourself may never sell a thing and be living in a huge mansion, but odds are you're benefiting from the sale of something to someone. This system of making sales work for you is part of the appeal of MLM.

Downlines. You benefit from the work of others. The more people you have in your downlines, the more profit you are making. Downlines make sales. You make money. End of story. But what's the name of the game?

Leads. The hottest commodity of MLM. If you've got 'em, you've got it. If not, you're going to be working really, really hard to pay for that huge mansion on door-to-door sales and Tupperware parties. If you can get downlines, you can get money. In order to have downlines, you need leads. In short, leads equal money.

And that's the MLM secret, which you already know, of course. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you can't make a fortune by yourself in this business. But just because you know that you need leads doesn't mean you can find them. And that's where so many MLM ventures fail. How do You know where You want to be?

I’m so used to most of my friends and colleagues wondering where in the world I always find time and energy to do the things I do, that I’ve finally decided to spend few minutes and give full answers to these questions.

The ultimate answer

First and foremost, the ultimate answer to all such questions: it’s all about having a clear vision in your mind. It’s about knowing where you want to be in not so distant future. It’s about being absolutely conscious that no matter how good or bad the current situation looks, it’s probably not the end of your journey.

I won’t claim knowing a special secret about setting your goals or anything like this - after all, I’m only learning to master the art of goal-setting myself. But I’m willing to share the few things I’ve learned so far, and I sincerely hope these pearls of wisdom would help you make the progress in your personal development you’re so hoping for.

Outcome vs Goal

One very simple thing I’ve learned is to treat my goals as outcomes.

Since all our achievements are nothing but the result of our self-confidence and determination, you really have be sure about what you should be doing to achieve the result you want. And what quite often happens is that we’re thinking goals, as in goals which sometimes seem too good to be true, or too far away to be easily reached, or simply too complex to be fully achieved. In other words, we set ourselves such goals that they’re always a possibility, but not a certainty.

You think: “Yeah, wouldn’t it be great to have more time freed up for my family?!… I should probably try and do something to make sure I don’t work late hours and don’t take up more projects than I physically can…” So the goal of having more time sounds like a good idea.

But because we’re not sure how much more time we’d like to free up, and how it’s going to look and feel, and when it’s going to happen, it’s REALLY hard to achieve such a goal. Quite simply, you’re not giving yourself a chance to know when you’re approaching your goal and when you’ve really achieved it. But what if we consider this goal to become an outcome?

Outcomes are always certain. There is no probability here at all, not a shadow of doubt about getting an outcome - whether we like it or not, we’re going to get some outcome following our actions. It may not be quite the outcome you were aiming for, but it will be an outcome. We have to look at this goal and see what the outcome is going to be for us.

What will really improve when you get more time freed up? How will it improve in your opinion? How much time do you really need to see such an improvement? Would 1 extra hour a day be good enough, or do you want two hours?

So just knowing that there’s something you’re going to get helps you look at the whole plan of yours from a completely different perspective. It’s no longer a question of whether something happens or not. It an outcome now, it’s a thing certain to happen. And just like that, in an instant, you see a magical transformation for a vague goal into a sharp certainty quite possible to be achieved.

Ultimate goals

Every one of us should have ultimate goals. There shouldn’t be too many of them, but you absolutely need at least a few. They would be your guiding lines - something you always keep in mind in every effort you’re making. For instance, my ultimate goals are the driving force behind most of my actions.

There’s an odd action now and then which doesn’t fall into any of my ultimate goals but that’s the truth of life - you can’t turn every action required and expected from you to be beneficial.

Sometimes (as it probably happens with your job, for instance), you have to do things which are part of someone else’s ultimate goal or vision, but that’s what you’re paid for, isn’t it?

I don’t want to give you a list of my ultimate goals - partially because I’m changing them all the time, make some of them more accurate and therefore easy to follow, or just reordering them to ensure the most important goals are the first ones I work on. Also it is because no ultimate goal of mine is final - once I reach the goal, I simply make the milestone and develop the goal into a bigger one, so that it’s a constant pursuit of something bigger and better. For me such a state of things is nothing but a pure and constant motivation.

When I have a clear vision of my future, I have a list of my goals - and I know I’m always doing my best to get closer to them. But if my goals were finite, I would simply be disappointed once I’d reached them. So I always push my goals higher and further apart. This way I have the motivation to grow and continue to do what I’ve been doing.

Knowing where you want to be

Many of you will find that it’s much easier to know where you don’t want to be! That’s good enough, work from there! Don’t be so hard on yourself, but simply try being conscious about your current position. For me, I always know there’s something else waiting for me ahead in the future. And this motivates, not disappoints me.

Every time I go to gym I KNOW it’s not the last time I’m going to do it. Right now my goals could be about losing some weight or growing some muscles, but even when I do reach these goals, I’m sure I’ll transform them into some other goal like making sure I stay healthy and physically active for as long as possible.

Every time I’m learning something new in my profession, I KNOW it’s just another piece of useful information. I’m sure that if there’s a chance to learn something else, and provided that I have enough time for it, I’ll go for it. I’ll never stop learning. Every time I write an entry in this blog, I’m ABSOLUTELY SURE it’s not the last one. Because there’s always going to be something else I can learn to help myself grow, to try it out and to share it so that others could enjoy the results too.

Knowing where you want to be is very important. It’s not a set of goals, but more like a vision. It’s a number of your wildest dreams you want to come true once day. It’s all these things which you’re finally going to achieve. And that’s the energy and motivation to keep you going even when no one else believes in you. It doesn’t matter. Y

YOU know better what’s good for you and for your goals.

Do you know where you want to be? You may not have a clear vision of your future, but let me assure you - even feeling that you’re not quite there is a good start! Don’t stop there! Try and make the next step. Find some time and analyze your goals - both everyday and ultimate ones. See what’s really important for you and start paying them more attention. This is the effort you have to make as it will eventually make all the difference for you.

Don’t worry about so much work to be done. Don’t be afraid to dream of a better future. Don’t be discouraged if something doesn’t work out the way you wanted it to. It doesn’t mean anything! You can do much more than you think you can, and as long as you know where you want to be and you keep working on getting there, you’re going to be just fine!

Randomized Controlled Study of MonaVie Active

The results of recent research surrounding MonaVie Active(TM), a juice containing acai berries and pulp, as well as other nutrient-rich fruits, will be presented in a session entitled "Antioxidants in Fruits and Vegetables and Improving Human Health" at the 2nd International Symposium on Human Health Effects of Fruits and Vegetables on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 10:15 a.m. - noon, in the Grand Salon East at the Omni Hotel in Houston, TX. Alexander Schauss, PhD, FACN, will highlight findings of in vitro studies evaluating the antioxidant capacity of MonaVie, as well as in vivo studies to determine antioxidant absorption and bioactivity.

This three-part study examined whether the fruit antioxidants in MonaVie are in a form able to enter into and protect living cells in vitro and also examined the bioavailability of MonaVie and its effect on serum biomarkers of oxidative damage after ingestion. An initial in vitro study was performed to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of MonaVie in a cell-based antioxidant capacity (CAP) assay, as well as using the TEAC assay that found it to be 28,421 umolTE/L. MonaVie showed a clear dose-dependent antioxidant effect in the CAP assay, indicating that compounds in MonaVie are able to cross the plasma membrane of living cells and subsequently provide significant protection from oxidative damage within the cells.

In the second stage of the study, four ounces of MonaVie was administered to six participants on a single day to identify the time course for antioxidant absorption and bioactivity. Blood samples were collected immediately prior to ingestion and at 30, 60 and 120 minutes post consumption. Evidence of absorption, based on increased antioxidant bioactivity and antioxidant compounds in serum was found in all six subjects. A third randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study of 12 healthy adults was then conducted. Participants fasted overnight and a baseline blood sample was drawn. Immediately afterward, four ounces of MonaVie or a placebo was consumed. Blood samples were drawn at one and two hours after ingestion, and CAP and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assays were used to evaluate serum antioxidant capacity and serum lipid peroxidation, respectively. Consumption of MonaVie resulted in an increase in the serum antioxidant capacity in 11 of 12 participants within two hours of consumption. Results also found that ingestion of MonaVie resulted in a decrease in serum lipid peroxidation within two hours of consumption in 10 of the 12 study participants, most likely due to the increased serum antioxidant capacity.

Alexander G. Schauss, PhD, FACN, senior director of natural and medicinal products research for AIBMR Life Sciences, has held faculty appointments at four institutions of higher learning, including that of associate professor of behavioral sciences, associate professor of research, clinical professor of natural products research and adjunct research clinical professor of botanical medicine. He now concentrates on research. In 2005, he was the recipient of the Linus Pauling Lecture Award from the
American College for the Advancement of Medicine for "contributions to the medical sciences." The author of 12 books on health and nutrition, and the senior co-author of four others, Dr. Schauss lives in Tacoma, Wash.

The Only Way to Be Happy is to Give Happy

It's common to hear people say, "I just want to be happy." And who doesn't? It's certainly much better to be happy than sad. Good times are better to experience than bad. But pursuing happy is a little off the mark. It's like trying to grab smoke.

Whenever we make happiness our goal, we set ourselves up for a futile chase. First, we do something that we think will make us happy. Then, once that pleasure is through, we move on to the next. Usually, the pleasures have to escalate to continue to satisfy, and we find ourselves in an endless climb. From pleasure to pleasure we go, never really finding happiness.

The paradox is that happiness comes from living according to the highest picture we have of ourselves, not from pursuing and receiving pleasure. Everybody has an image in their mind of who they are and what they stand for. Sometimes our actions verify this inner image, and sometimes they run counter to it. This is where our spirituality comes in. The proper picture of ourselves is from our god's perspective. Our perspective will always be a little flawed, skewed, and biased. We either tend to think we are better than we are, or we think horribly of ourselves. But our Creator has the true picture, and the closer we get to understanding what the Bible says about who we are, about "who's" we are, and about what we are here to do, the more we can understand what the accurate picture of ourselves should be. Happiness then comes from living according to this accurrate and true picture of ourselves.

It's such a strange paradox, but I believe you'll find it to be true. It's one of the reasons that serving other people works so well to lift your spirits when you are down. Tis much better to give than to receive. But every time we give, we actually receive at the same time. It can't be helped. Happiness will find you there!

Leadership utlimately ends up being about service to others. That's why most leaders you meet, even if in the middle of strife and surrounded by obstacles, are actually very happy. They might not be the biggest consumers of pleasure in our society, but they generally have a corner on the market of happiness! I guess it's one of the rewards to those of you who give of yourself in the service of others. Use the buddy system
It’s not a bad idea to bring a friend to a networking event, as long as you don’t rely on the friend too much. Personally, I like to go to these kind of events on my own. That way, I can come and go as I please and talk to people without anyone I know watching me!

Attend a sit down event
While this type of set up eliminates the problem of having to randomly approach people who are standing up, the downside is that you may be stuck at an undesirable table. Maybe the people aren’t interested in you, or you in them. It is a good exercise in small talk to sit next to someone for a meal. Think of it as good practice, and you may get lucky and meet a great contact.

Give People Something to Talk About
Wear Something Memorable It can’t hurt to wear a great pin or or special tie. Be careful not to be the one everyone remembers for what you wear, though! Especially if it is conservative group, be sure your choices are interesting enough to be noticed, but not outlandish.

Get a drink
If everyone else is eating and drinking, holding a glass may make you feel more a part of the evening and give you something to do in-between talking to people. Stopping at the bar also gives you an opportunity to talk to people.

Find someone alone
You know there are a lot of other people who hate to “work a room.” They are probably standing alone, with a drink in their hand, wishing the whole thing was over! Go up to them and say hello! You may find a kindred spirit and maybe a new networking friend.

Don’t dominate one person
Angela notes that “some people enjoy deep conversations, not small talk.” If you do have the opportunity to get involved in a conversation with someone, make sure that you are mindful of their body language to know when it is time to move on. Most people attend networking events to circulate and touch base with a lot of people, so be sure you don’t keep someone hostage talking to you!

Take breaks
Retire to the restroom or step outside of the room to recharge. Remember that the event will be over soon, and that, even if you consider yourself an introvert, you can still act extroverted. The more practice you have, the easier it will get.

Congratulate yourself on your accomplishments, and think about how you can work the room even better next time!

I am half way through "Launching a Leadership Revolution" from by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward.

This book combines principles from many other leadership references, describes interesting situations where the principles are applied - many from the author's experiences; others from history, and presents a clear tool to assess where your leadership abilities are today. The book also clearly outlines a roadmap to take you from where you are today to where you know your leadership abilities can be.

A fantastically entertaining read for a business book - but you know leadership principles can be applied throughout you life, not just in business. That's what is so cool about improving personal leadership ability!!

Authors Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward have provided a fresh perspective on leadership for all of us. Whether we realize it or not, we are all leaders. But are we all prepared to lead? Orrin and Chris have given us a powerful tool to prepare ourselves to lead.

This book is practical, insightful, and actionable. Based on sound theory and principle, Chris and Orrin draw from the greatest leadership thinking past and present. Beyond that, they demonstrate that there is both a science and an art to leadership. That art, and that science, can be learned. Any reader, one new to leadership or a seasoned veteran, can enhance their leadership effectiveness through this book.

There are many types of leadership approaches. However, when we think of defining leadership, there are mainly two definitions.

When most people think of a leader, they picture someone who is very well known and the head of a group. We might also tend to think about someone who is the best in sports or business. Tiger Woods leads the way in golf, while Apple products practically rule the portable music industry.

However, there's a lot more to leadership than just someone who's leading a group, a business, or leading in sports. People usually give orders when they're trying to lead a group of people, or they may do underhanded things to trick people into following their lead.

Thanks to the more shady types, people learn to be careful around "leaders." They're not interested in letting someone trick or take advantage of them.

If you want to develop types of leadership that are long-lasting you need to stay away from tricks and mistrust. If your followers sense any kind of trickery, you will lose the credibility you possible began with.

Developing trust in your followers demands integrity. This means that you will do what you say you will do - you will walk the talk.

One of the most common ways leaders hurt their reputation is by making promises that they can't deliver on. It's important to be careful about what you say.

People won't be turned off by someone who is cautious with promises. They know you'll only make commitments you keep. Since they can trust that you won't back out of your promises, they will be better followers as a result.

What if you promised one of your employees that you are going to give them a raise next year? That is a problem.

A raise is often out of your hands, particularly if you don't know how well the company is going to do this year. It's better to think about approaching the subject of a raise in regards to your followers meeting sales goals.

Magnanimity

Humility

But the REAL truth is, WHY are YOU doing this business?
There's a big, big, big reason, something that will keep you going.

If your "WHY" is a 70% and you come up against an obstacle that's a 72%, you're gone! You'll drop out, disappear.

But when your "WHY" is so huge that it can't be overshadowed, THEN you're there to stay and be successful.

When I first started coaching and people would write down their "WHY", it was usually money. They want to make so much money, or pay off a hospital bill, or replace an old car. Whatever.

But your REAL "WHY" is never money. It's always about who you really are.

Why are you on this planet? What is it you were meant to do? In one form or another, you're here to change lives, touch lives, help people.

It's NEVER about the money.

When I coach a person, I always tell my own "WHY". It'll give you a starting point. So I'll share it with you.

The #1 reason I'm in this business, that I'm here on this planet, is because I want to spend more quality time with my family. People say, "Steve, that's crazy. You work full-time in network marketing, you work at home. You're already right there."

Yes. BUT ... I treat business as business. When I'm in the office, I'm in the office. Same as if my office was 20 miles away.

Yeah, I can walk into the kitchen and grab a sandwich and see the family.

But this is a business. I treat it like a business.

I've seen it all. Everytime a company or distributorship explodes and goes away, it's because of greed and ego.
Beware greed & ego. Stay away.

The people we attract don't have a greed & ego problem. They are humble people, people who want success.

But there's more to this "WHY". It's very personal ...
just as your "WHY" should be.

My school teachers were pessimists. They'd tell me, "You're no good. You'll never amount to anything. You'll never have a pot to pee in."

But I programmed my mind to reject what they told me.

My mother, would say, "Steve, I love you. I'm proud of you. You can do anything you want.
Look at that beautiful picture you drew for me!"

At 7 years old, I made a conscious decision that I liked my Mom's reality better than I liked my teachers reality.

So when my teachers or anyone started running me down, I'd just step into the theater of my mind. I'd picture & hear my Mom saying what a great kid I was. I'd literally feel her hugging me.
I'd stop feeling bad.

So now, to feel good about myself, I MUST help people.

There's a husband and wife team that was with a network marketing company for 2 years and never sponsored anybody. We've been coaching them 7 or 8 months. It's amazing. They may win the top recruiter award in their company this year. They're sponsoring 10 or 12 people a month.

They've gone from their heads to their hearts.

You'll hear me say this a lot. It's NOT a sales business.
It's a teaching/mentoring business. They're not selling anything. I mean, really, they're NOT selling anything.
They are Paying It Forward.

So my first bit of coaching is, figure out your own "WHY".
Write it down. Test it mentally. (Is it enough to keep you going in VERY tough times?)

CRITICAL: If you don't have a very strong, written "WHY",
you have almost NO chance of sticking around long enough to be successful in this business.

"Numerous studies have been made of small business managers over the years. Many look at traits and characteristics that appear common to most people who start their own businesses. Other studies focus on characteristics that seem to appear frequently in successful owner-managers.

First, consider those characteristics that seem to distinguish the person who opens a business from the person who works for someone else. These studies investigated successful and unsuccessful owners, some of whom went bankrupt several times. Some were successful only after the second or third try. The characteristics they share might almost be said to predispose a person into trying to start a business. Of course, not all of these characteristics appear in every small business owner-manager, but the following seem to be most predominate.

People who start their own business may be members of different political parties, feel differently about religion, economics and other issues. They are like everyone else. The difference is they usually feel and express themselves more strongly. This is consistent. If you are going to risk your money and time in your own business you must have a strong feeling that you will be successful.

These strong feelings may also cause problems. If you want to start your own business you probably have mixed feelings about authority. You know the manager must have authority to get things done, but you're not comfortable working under someone. This may also have been your attitude in a scholastic, family or other authority structure.

If you want to open your own business you are likely to have a strong "Need for Achievement". This "Need for Achievement" is a psychologist's term for motivation and is usually measured by tests. It can be an important factor in success. The person who wouldn't think of starting a business, might call you a plunger, a gambler, a high risk taker. Yet you probably don't feel that about yourself.

Studies have shown that very often the small business owner doesn't differ from anyone else in risk avoidance or aversion when measured on tests. At first thought this seems unreasonable since logic tells us that it is risky to open your own business. A management expert once explained this apparent contradiction very simply. "When a person starts and manages his own business he doesn't see risks; he sees only factors that he can control to his advantage."
If you possess these traits to some degree or other it doesn't mean you will be successful, only that you will very likely start your own business. Some of these characteristics in excess may actually hamper you if you are not careful.

The characteristics that appear most frequently among "successful" small business managers include drive, thinking ability, competence in human relations, communications skills and technical knowledge.

Drive, as defined in the study, is composed of responsibility, vigor, initiative, persistence and health.

Thinking ability consists of original, creative, critical, and analytical thinking.

Competency in human relations means emotional stability, sociability, good personal relations, consideration, cheerfulness, cooperation. and tactfulness.

Communications skills include verbal comprehension, and oral and written communications.

Technical knowledge is the manager's comprehension of the physical process of producing goods or services, and the ability to use the information purposefully.

Motivation or drive has long been considered as having an important effect on performance. Psychologists now claim you can increase the motivation and the personal capacities that will improve your effectiveness and increase your chances for success. Much of the development of such achievement motivation depends on setting the right kind of goals for yourself."

What ‘Not’ To Do As a Team Leader

Team leaders are needed in all spheres of organizational life. This includes marketing, R&D, engineering, production, quality assurance, information systems, human resources, accounting and finance, and all the rest. It also includes first-level management, middle-level management, and upper-level management. The need for team leaders is not limited to particular spheres.
We should now address this question: What is meant by “team leadership”? Especially important is the question: How does team leadership differ from heroic leadership?
The concept of team leadership seems to indicate different things to different managers. Thus, a useful point of leaving is to state what team leadership is not.

Team leadership is not pure democratic leadership.

Democratic leadership means putting the various decisions up for vote, and the majority rules. Experience shows that if the group leader typically uses this approach for decision making, it will split the group into subgroups, with each subgroup protecting its own turf.

Team leadership is not management by committee.

The concept of “committee” usually is associated with academic institutions. Committees oftentimes suffer from lack of clear responsibility, authority, and accountability. Consequently, they are hamstrung in their efforts to achieve results. There is little to no relation between management by committee and team leadership.

Team leadership does not mean involving the staff in every management decision.

I have known a few inexperienced managers who assumed that team management meant that the team should be involved in every decision. Because of the large number of management decisions that must be made daily, such an approach would be inefficient and almost impossible to carry out. Team leadership means that the staff members are involved in those key decisions that influence their work. This does not necessarily mean that they will make the decisions; rather, they will contribute their ideas to these decisions. With team leadership, we must bear in mind that the manager in charge is still responsible for the quality of the decisions, as well as for their successful execution.

Team leadership is not manipulative management.

Some managers are still possessed by the spirit of Machiavelli. These are managers who want to make their people think that they are participating in key decisions when in fact they are not. This type of management is indecent. Most people would prefer to work for an honest autocrat rather than for a pseudo-participative manager. Team leadership is authentic leadership. “Playing games” with people is not part of the scene.

I have been supporting telephone systems for at least 15 years, and my favorite is definitely the Asterisk Open Source PBX originally created by Mark Spencer of Digium.

Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. We run it on CentOS.
It provides all of the features you would expect from a PBX and more. Asterisk does voice over IP in four protocols, and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware.

Asterisk provides Voicemail services with Directory, Call Conferencing, Interactive Voice Response, Call Queuing, Automated attendant, Fax to Email.

The great thing is that you are only limited by your imagination. You can script pretty much anything that you want with it. You can have it check the weather and read it to you. you can have it access a database and either read (speak) it to a caller or enter new data.

One source that I like for Asterisk unique ideas is the Nerd Vittles blog.

Asterisk is managed via text file, but there are GUI (webpage) tools to make administration easier.

For this, I like FreePBX for the major configurations. We also use Web-MeetMe to manage our conference calls.

To save money on IP (SIP) Phones, we used SIP to Digital Phone adapters from Citel.

This allowed us to keep our old NEC desk phone, but get all of the feateres that Asterisk provides.

For connectivity, We use a Digium PRI card in the server to connect to the local phone company.

We use a SIP to GSM adapter to make calls to our company cell phones using free cell to cell minutes.
We use Vonage Bussiness to make certain calls less expensive.
We use a "call us" button on our website that lets you call over the internet via an ActiveX control.
We also use "Soft Phones" to allow our traveling users to make and receive calls on their laptops.
We are testing a SIP to Skype setup that will allow use to us Skype from our desk phones.

Asterisk can also be used as a home PBX.

Building a Pipeline to Wealth: The Cashflow Quadrant

Each of us resides in at least one of the four Quadrants of the CASHFLOW Quadrant™.
Where we are is determined by where our main source of income comes from. Many of us rely on paychecks and are therefore employees, while others are self-employed.
Employees and self-employed individuals reside on the left side of the CASHFLOW Quadrant™. The right side of the CASHFLOW Quadrant™ is for individuals who receive their cash from businesses or investments they own.

My Rich Dad told me a simple story when I was 12 years old that has guided me to great wealth and financial freedom. It was Rich Dad’s way of explaining the difference between the left side of the CASHFLOW Quadrant™, the 'E' and 'S' Quadrants™, from the right side of the 'B' and 'I' Quadrants™.

Once upon a time there was this quaint little village. It was a great place to live except for one problem. The village had no water unless it rained.
To solve this problem once and for all, the village elders decided to put out to bid the contract to have water delivered to the village on a daily basis.
Two people volunteered to take on the task and the elders awarded the contract to both of them. They felt that a little competition would keep prices low and ensure a backup supply of water.

Self-Employed Thinking

The first of the two people, Ed, immediately ran out, bought two galvanized steel buckets and began running back and forth along the trail to the lake which was a mile away.
He immediately began making money as he labored morning to dusk hauling water from the lake with his two buckets. He would empty them into the large concrete holding tank the village had built.

Each morning he had to get up before the rest of the village awoke to make sure there was enough water for the village when it wanted it. It was hard work, but he was very happy to be making money and for having one of the two exclusive contracts for this business.

Business Owner Thinking

The second winning contractor, Bill, disappeared for a while. He was not seen for months, which made Ed very happy since he had no competition. Ed was making all the money.
Instead of buying two buckets to compete with Ed, Bill had written a business plan, created a corporation, found four investors, employed a president to do the work, and returned six months later with a construction crew.
Within a year his team had built a large volume stainless steel pipeline, which connected the village to the lake.

At the grand opening celebration, Bill announced that his water was cleaner than Ed’s water. Bill knew that there had been complaints about dirt in Ed’s water.
Bill also announced that he could supply the village with water 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ed could only deliver water on the weekdays. He did not work on weekends.
Then Bill announced that he would charge 75% less than Ed did for this higher quality and more reliable source of water. The village cheered and ran immediately for the faucet at the end of Bill’s pipeline.

In order to compete, Ed immediately lowered his rates by 75%, bought two more buckets, added covers to his buckets, and began hauling four buckets each trip. In order to provide better service, he hired his two sons to give him a hand for the night shift and on weekends.
When his boys went off to college, he said to them, "Hurry back because someday this business will belong to you." For some reason, after college, his two sons never returned. Eventually Ed had employees and union problems. The union was demanding higher wages, better benefits, and wanted its members to only haul one bucket at a time.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Bill, on the other hand, realized that if this village needed water, then other villages must need water too. He rewrote his business plan and went off to sell his high speed, high volume, and low cost, clean water delivery system to villages throughout the world.
He only makes a penny per bucket of water delivered, but he delivers billions of buckets of water, and all that money pours into his bank account. Bill had developed a pipeline to deliver money to himself as well as water to the villages.
Bill lived happily ever after, and Ed worked hard for the rest of his life and had financial problems forever after. The end.

That story about Bill and Ed has guided me for years. It has assisted me in my life’s decision-making process. I often ask myself, "Am I building a pipeline or hauling buckets?" Am I working hard or am I working smart?"
And the answers to those questions have made me financially free.

The CASHFLOW Quadrant™ is about the four different types of people who make up the world of business, who they are, and what makes individuals in each Quadrant unique.
It will help you define where you are in the Quadrant today and help you chart a course for where you want to be in the future as you choose your own path to financial freedom.
While financial freedom can be found in all four of the Quadrants, the skills of a ‘B’ or ‘I’ will help you reach your financial goals more quickly. A successful ‘E’ should also become a successful ‘I’.

There seems to be a huge craze lately with everyone trying to blog and ping to get their websites indexed into the search engines. Although this can be a great tool, all marketers should first understand exactly what they’re getting themselves into before starting.
This article is to serve as a beginners guide to getting started with blogging and pinging.

1. What is a blog?
A "blog" is short for "web log." A web log is an online diary or journal. The main aspect blog is that it is frequently updated - at least once a week, sometimes every day or even more.
Since blogs are regularly updated, they tend to carry more value than regular static HTML pages (in some cases).

2. What is a ping?
A ping is a program that sends out a brief request for a response from another computer or server. When you ping on the Internet, you send out a program to see if a remote server is responding.

3. How do bloggers use pings?
Two main reasons to use pings with blogs: First and foremost is to let the search engines know that you have updated your website so they can send their spiders.
Secondly, pings also update the websites on the internet who are using your blog on their site (through a feature called RSS feeds, they are displaying your messages on their site).

4. So what is the big deal about blogging and pinging?
Smart affiliate marketers use blogging and pinging to help get their sites crawled and indexed by the search engine spiders a lot quicker than they normally would.
They set up a blog either on their main site or on a sub-domain of their site. They then post links to their product pages on their blog and send out a ping to all the major servers on the Internet.
That ping says "This site has fresh content, time to go add it to your database!" It\'s a trigger that sends the search spiders looking for updated pages on your site. When they find the new pages, search engines tend to index them much faster.
Blogging and pinging will not get you into EVERY search engine overnight. As of this writing, it is most effective with getting into Yahoo. But often MSN, and even Google, will follow in short order.
Combine blogging and pinging with good link recruiting for the best indexing.
Also, blog and ping on a regular basis if you want to “stay” indexed in the search engines.

5. Is blogging and pinging a requirement to get indexed?
No. You can get indexed quickly by getting plenty of natural backlinks. But for backlinks to be most effective, they have to appear as if they were natural and this can take weeks if not months. Blogging and pinging does seem to drastically shorten the process.

6. Is there a downside to blogging and pinging?
Yes, some marketers are starting to abuse this strategy and the engines are getting wise to it! If you go over-board you risk getting your website completely banned and removed.
Also, many marketers are blogging and pinging for a few days and then forgetting about the website – your website will likely be de-indexed if you do not continue to naturally blog and ping.

The bottom line is that blogging and pinging is a great strategy right now to help you get your website indexed faster. However, the old natural way of getting incoming links is still the best and most assured way – not to mention the long-term benefits of having incoming links.

Why did I spell it out? Sound it out to yourself. Great word, with so much meaning. Isn’t respect what we all want and, really expect from others? Reflect back over your life’s experiences and take this LINK into situations you have been most pleased. How often have we heard that respect is earned? How many times have you wanted to extend respect only to be let down? Why not create a world around you where people are, in part, measured by the respect they have for others, you and themselves? Sounds so elementary, but is so often overlooked. What respect also encompasses is sincerity, genuineness and a conscience that the means will justify the end, not the other way around!
ALL quality, long-term and successful relationships begin with establishing a rapport, confidence and trust. The pay-off is respect for that person, what they say and how they interact with YOU! Doesn’t it make sense that in all your dealings on the internet that you be mindful of these factors. If someone is skipping a step, or two, don’t you think it best that you pause and think about whether there is really a fit. One must give to get in so many aspects of daily life and, respect is clearly one that must be a two-way street.

PATIENCE

While PATIENCE is a huge part of every aspect of one’s life, nowhere can it be said to be more important than on the Internet by virtue of building relationships, a business, trying to figure it all out, etc. Many, in their rush to succeed “push the envelope” a bit and then are faced with having to undo that which could have been avoided with a bit of patience. In our zeal to accomplish, we often fail to take into account many things take time to take root and advance the natural order of events to our own detriment. The beauty of succeeding in an Internet business is that once you have patiently developed the base of contacts, methods and profit centers you can multiply those with extraordinary and, cost-effective speed!
WE all have suffered consequences to moving too fast whether in business, personal life, etc. Based on those experiences, many become too patient and fail to assert themselves. So patience is a middle-ground in the sweep of the pendulum of life’s experiences. Some need to slow-down, others speed-up but all knowing, when it is time to apply the brakes and let events take their course. No place is this truer than in the evolution of an your Internet business.

COMMUNICATION

In today’s fast-paced world it is sometimes hard to discern what is real communication and what is pure, unadulterated hype. As we know, you cannot believe ALL that you read—been said for years as to newspapers, magazines, etc.—why should the Internet be any different? Many put in their emails, deadlines (only to extend them), discounts (already inflated pricing?), urgency and so on. You know what I am referring to and if that is the style of communication that works for some, so be it. I, for one, am more interested in honesty, integrity and substance. I want to be able to read and comprehend thoughts then, assimilate them to how I can best utilize them. None of us wants, at least not intentionally, for another to impose their will. Yes, there is something to be said for long, rambling narratives to get your mind engaged and operational but wouldn’t it be great if we could just get to the core of the issue from the start without the excess verbiage?
I have found I tend to tune-out lengthy verbal conversations, so why would I allow myself to get pulled into lengthy email commentaries? Part of it is there may be recognizing something to this effort—look at the time, the length, etc. When I get to the end I find it is all about selling, selling, selling often with passing attention to informing and educating. If the product is worthwhile is more copy really necessary?
So, keep in mind, in all your communications get to the point. Time is precious. Don’t try to impose your will but rather build a dialogue—ask for interaction. In that way, you are establishing a relationship and addressing true concerns rather than just trying to anticipate every possible thought or question. Stimulate thoughts by not only what you convey but, ask for the comments, questions, observations & ideas. In this way, you will develop true communication which is not an imposition!
The great persuader Thomas Aquinas offered this bit of advice: "When you want to convert someone to your view, you go over to where he is standing, take him by the hand (mentally speaking), and guide him. You don't stand across the room and shout at him; you don't call him a dummy; you don't order him to come over to where you are. You start where he is, and work from that position. That's the only way to get him to budge."

FOCUS

This is a big one, yes?! Everywhere you go you hear about the importance of focus. Why? Is it because we have so many choices that we are distracted from things easily? Is it because if something fails to hold our attention long enough we lose interest? To many, FOCUS is all about making a sincere effort to concentrate on an issue to the point that you know it better than anyone else. When issues from day-to-day crop-up, you are able to address them and all the while keeping your mind set on the next step in what is truly important.
Another way to look at focus is to say, this project is of such a nature and so compelling, that my failure to stay focused will result in me not being able to maximize the benefits from my efforts, thus never knowing what could have been achieved. Some would have you think you need fear, great rewards, major incentives, etc., to keep the focus. I would rather believe focus comes from within and is a function of a subconscious/conscious desire to excel. The urge to get better & better each day, all the while realizing a string of doing a thousand little things right is far superior to waiting for one big thing to just happen.

Enthusiasm

In today’s world, with so many choices, why would anyone want to do anything that didn’t excite them? Without excitement, it is well nigh impossible to have enthusiasm. If you don’t convey the energy that comes from enthusiasm you are just going through the motions and it will show! Enthusiasm is a function of knowing where you fit within the project/product that you are sharing with others and, at the same time, being able to transfer that feeling to them. An enthusiastic attitude is contagious. Your demeanor determines the mind-set others will have in receiving, not only information you are conveying, but also the acceptance of it as being of importance.
In ALL of your contacts, let your upbeat, positive self rule and know that you have the comfort of your prior analysis and decision-making, to insure that your enthusiastic edge stays in control of your thoughts and presentations. PERSISTENCE!!! (Aka, Don’t Quit!)

Oh my, here is the reality check, literally and, figuratively. How often do we start something only to let it slide down the list of priorities? Has it really been replaced or, have we not put it in the right slot mentally? I believe persistence has less to do with energy, affirmations, motivation and far more to do with desire. The desire to see something through to a conclusion, not only out of curiosity, but a genuine sense that what you are doing is valuable and of importance. Since this desire comes from “how you view things”, doesn’t it make sense that the basis for applying PERSISTENCE exists from the get-go and is not something you should have to rally along the way. Oh yes, we all can get down on ourselves, others, slow results and so on but, this usually is a function of expectations that you set, often unconsciously, and have nothing to do with the reality of your actual progress.
To the extent your desire wanes then it is at that point you may have to dig deep and say, “Don’t Quit”! Often, we are so close to what we really desire to achieve but decide not to go that extra step—what a pity, what a potential mis-, or missed fortune. Always, look to yourself, not others, to find, or rediscover, the desire so necessary to reaching above average results!

PERCEPTION

Notice this link is capitalized, italicized, bold and underlined. For good reason, this is the one aspect to all that we do that, can undo all the great applications of the other links with the greatest of speed. Why? Our receptors to what others generate are geared to fit impressions into pre-conceived images to assist in deciding what we let in our world and what we repel! Do you believe it is a tough task to know the “how-tos” in dealing with people, not knowing what shaped them and their perception of people, places, things and events? No more difficult than approaching every person and situation with sincerity, compassion, honesty, integrity and genuine commitment. Exhibit these qualities and it shows, big-time! Cut a corner or two and guess what, that shows in even a bigger way—just human nature to respond that way.
I have noted, many times, the ease with which one can convey true perception by not only being yourself but, doing so, in accordance with what you believe the other person(s) perspective is, or should be, based on the issue at hand. Makes sense to conjure up a bit of empathy by knowing more about the likes & dislikes through discussion than imposing your will upon them, blindly. Pretty neat, just take a little time and expend some preparatory effort, to position yourself to be better informed and, with that edge, you can portray the appropriate qualities that secure the positive results you deserve!

RESPONSIVE

Many would have you believe it is all in the follow-up. While prompt follow-up is important, you must be aware of the needs, questions and concerns of others. The follow-up is merely an extension to being responsive, in the first instance. This encompasses not only the speed of the reply but, also, the nature of the information provided coupled with an effort to add “value” by providing leadership and direction through your comments, questions, observations, etc.
Once you have established the baseline of being responsive, you also build trust and that makes your follow-up more credible. KNOW as much as possible about the person and/or situation you are dealing with, so that you can assert a personal touch in your contacts. Anticipate situations to avoid playing catch-up by thinking ahead and planning responses or contacts, accordingly.
Finally, perfect timing for being truly responsive is NOW, not later. If there is a reason for delay, share why. If there is no reason for delay, then get on with it and be known as someone who is dependable, forward thinking and easily accessible.

GOALS

You knew this had to be somewhere among the links. I have always believed the very best reason for goals is so you can measure your progress and if you do not establish targets to shoot for, how will you know if you have hit them. There is much said and written about setting goals. True, it helps to have some idea where you would like to go and what you would like to achieve. Far too often we get hung-up on coming up with the right answers, due to many years of conditioning in this regard and, fail to simply lighten up and establish some targets we want to hit. In archery, darts, basketball or whatever comes to mind, the target is in place and you seek to “hit it”. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Take time to set broad targets and then with each day’s practice hone in on hitting some bull’s eyes! Those are YOUR goals. As time marches on, you can create more challenging scenarios and loftier missions, just as you would in standing further away from the target, once you have hit the bull’s eye with uncanny perfection.
YOU, and only you, can set the balance between what you want and what you are willing to do to get those results. Some goals are inherently short-term, many are long-term, but one thing is certain, they are many times more a guide or direction that should be viewed as modifiable, rather than etched in stone. In this way, you have the comfort of knowing somewhat where you are headed without the pressure of rigid adherence. If you really want to lock-in a goal for achievement don’t keep it to yourself but, rather, share it with others. Amazing what a motivator accountability can be!

Relationships of all kinds are often perceived as very delicate things, that
require extra effort to maintain. However, a relationship can also be something
that can provide security and can also be long lasting despite many trials.

Building an effective and lasting relationships is a necessity for several
reasons. For example in a group or organization, the well being of the people
depends on how efficient and effective that group or organization works.

The group or organization is also dependent on how the members work well with
the management.

An ineffective group or organization can really be very frustrating. An
effective group or organization can also ask so much on their members, that
sometimes the members would be having no life outside the walls of the area
where they work or sacrifice the other aspects of their life just to meet
deadlines. For an organization or group with this kind of scenario,
relationships can be stressed or suffer from breakdown.

People or other entities who depend on these groups or organization also suffer.

Society is defined as a web of relationships, which requires all parties to work
and contribute their share in order to achieve a common goal. Having a
relationship that is good, where cooperation and respect are manifested, can
make society work better. In this way each member works for the good of the
whole and towards achieving a common goal. This can only be attained with
effective and efficient relationships.

Understanding the other parties' feeling and position creates an effective and
efficient relationship. The easiest method to understand what is important to
another party is to ask them what they want and listen to what they have to say.

Respect is the key to relationship. In order to create a more effective
relationship, parties should treat each other with respect. We can show respect
just by listening to the other party and by trying sincerely to understand how
they function. You can also show respect to other parties by confirming that
they are doing everything they can.

The opposite of respect is quick forming of judgements based on unfounded facts
and prejudice.

Respect is the very foundation for a great relationship. This also means
respecting yourself and respecting others.

Another key area in forming an effective relationship is to tackle differences
of the other party directly. Differences between parties or people are quite
interesting. For example in a conversation where each party listens to the other
party, you may observe that each is having two different perspectives.

Work towards a win-win solution for both parties.

This can be done when at least one party acknowledges that the relationship is
important. That party would then exert more time, effort and energy to
understand the other party's needs and deal with it to get it out of the way.
Should they fail, it is comforting for that party to know that they tried.

Effectively listening and no pre-judging. This is important if parties are to
understand each other.

Informal discussions are conducive for parties. They bring out issues and
concerns comfortably. They also feel more relaxed making them think more
clearly.

Developing an atmosphere where the other party can express their feelings when
they need to.

When parties fail to express whatever is on their mind or their feelings, it can
get in the way of building an effective relationship.

Parties should be aware that certain things exist naturally but should be
controlled in any dealings in any relationship. Human nature is one. Some of
these things found in a relationship also include a history of stereotyping or
mistrust, blaming the other person or party for a strained relationship,
excluding the other party's feelings when focusing on a task, no clear and
defined objectives, roles and expectations of each party in a relationship is
also unclear.

Relationships are important to anyone, addressing issues and problems right away
is a must to further improve the relationship. As they say 'No man is an
Island'.

I once knew a guy who did pretty well for himself through MonaVie. But I know you've heard something like that before. Now, I'm always quite skeptical of all the amazing MLM testimonials about so and so who went from rags to riches and would like you to join his downline as soon as he returns from his month vacation in the Maldives.
